This year, winter just isn’t ending. However, there is one way you can speed up winter…by planning your Spring 2018 vacation of course! If you’re not sure where you should go for your spring vacation, here is a list of ideas that we recommend.
BANGKOK, THAILAND
This spring, jet off to the vibrant and cultural city of Bangkok for your next vacation. From April 13th to 15th, the locals will be celebrating the Songkran Water Festival. What is this festival, you ask? It’s a week full of friendly water fights and street parties! Songkran is celebrated in Thailand as the occasion for family reunions, temple visits, and house cleaning, and throwing water is a symbol for washing out all misfortunes in the past year. Start the year fresh, forget about your responsibilities, and have fun in Bangkok!
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
Each year, approximately a million visitors find their way to Melbourne for the Moomba Waterfest in March. The festival hosts free events for all ages along the banks of the Yarra River. Carnivals, community designed floats, dance performances, and lots of color are all on the list for this year’s Moomba Waterfest. While you’re there, you can meet a few kangaroos as well!
AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS
Every city celebrates unique occasions, and Amsterdam is no exception. On April 27th this year, the citizens of Amsterdam will come together for King’s Day. King’s Day is the annual Dutch national holiday that locals celebrate in honor of King Willem-Alexander’s birthday. The city’s population almost doubles as locals and visitors come together and dress up in orange clothes. Parties for the big event start from the night before and continue well into the next day. After you’ve had a night of party, the day begins with a citywide marketplace consisting of street vendors, market stalls, and even boat parties. Don’t miss King’s Day in Amsterdam this spring!
